Bill Gritton
To put food on the table I work at Eli Lilly & Co in Human Resources. The people who know me best say that I do most things very quickly and with hand-motions. Many people don't know that I really don’t do caffeine. My favorite way to unwind is to talk with people, work with my hands, run, play video games, watch movies, fish and listen to loud music (not at the same time…obviously). I experience pure joy when I’m home alone with my beautiful wife, Cynthia, my 7-year-old daughter Madison (“Monkey”) and my 4-year-old boy, Jacob (“Jack”) - especially when we are grilling out! Brief overview - Bill accepted Christ in 1981 in Mt. Zion, Illinois. He first became involved in ministry as a Youth Sponsor for Jr. High/High School students in 1989 at Webber Street Church of Christ in Champaign/Urbana, IL. He moved to Indianapolis in 1993 where he continued to follow God’s call to this ministry at Trader's Point Christian Church. It was during his involvement with the youth ministry at TPCC that Bill met Cynthia Gilbert, a fellow Youth Sponsor, and married her shortly after. While at Traders Point, Bill and Cynthia began attending “Axis” and joined a Growth Group led by Chris Croyts. When Common Ground emerged and TPCC made the decision to plant the church in Broadripple, Bill and Cynthia felt called to leave Youth Ministry and pursue whatever God had in store for Common Ground. Bill and Cynthia currently lead a Wednesday night house church on the NW side of Indianapolis. |
