Boise Church Plant

A team from Common Ground moved to Boise, Idaho in late 2010 to plant a church. The following are some updates they have provided since their time there:

We have all made significant relationships with several people in Boise who long for community, people who want to know more about Jesus, and the life they are invited to through him, and people who have been stirred inside about wanting to know who God is. There are beautiful relationships forming with our neighbors, co-workers and plumbers, many of whom are coming to our Thursday and Sunday gatherings. Our Thursday and Sunday gatherings have been a refreshing time and celebration as we share a meal, worship, pray together, study God's Word and share our lives with one another.

God is moving in powerful ways among the churches in Boise and there is a common goal of unity among the pastors and their communities. Ben and Bill have had the opportunity to meet with several pastors in the valley once a week for several months now to pray, create unity and to encourage each other as pastors. There is also a prayer movement happening among the Believers in the North End of Boise. The First Friday of each month people from several churches come together to pray and worship together, petitioning God for the city. It has been exciting to be a part of this prayer movement bubbling up among our city.

More exciting news is that North End Collective Church has out-grown our homes and a value of ours is that there would always be “room at the table for others to belong.” Well, there was no more room at our tables or in our living rooms. So, our one house church has become two, and we have taken our Sunday gathering to a more public space. We are now meeting at a church building on Sundays, renting space from another local church. This also accomplishes values we have for our Sunday gatherings:  To publicly declare the gospel, to hear stories about how Jesus is transforming lives, and to create space for others to belong.
