Children's Ministry
|
Common Ground believes that children are a gift from God and should be handled with love and care. We also believe that God has appointed parents as the primary religious disciplers of their children and the church’s role is to assist in the cooperative effort of that task. The children's ministry at Common Ground is intended to support the children and their parents by providing a nurturing environment that allows children to discover truths from God's Word that are fundamental to their spiritual development and establish a foundation for a relationship with Jesus Christ.
One way that we work to fulfill this purpose is by providing Sunday school for children age 0 – 12. Our primary emphasis during this time is bible teaching and modeling by caring adults. We also provide monthly parent pages (available in classrooms and at www.cground.org) that offer ideas and activities for parents to use as a starting point for interacting with their children regarding spiritual matters. Finally, we partner with our house church network in order to equip them to minister to the children of their house church by providing them with biblical topics and activities for utilization during their weekly meetings.
