*Additional Vision Trip Resources below:

PURPOSE: Partner with ServLife International to assist with projects at their new ministry campus in India and work with the orphans in ServLife's children's home there. (Depending on the timing of the trip, the team may attend the annual leadership conference and provide administrative and logistical support.)

Experiences include:
  • Seeing and experiencing the body of Christ through a different cultural perspective through: worshiping, praying, and spending time with indigenous leaders and church planters from India and getting a glimpse of what that looks like cross culturally (Acts 1:8)
  • Caring for, spending time, and participating in activities/games with the orphans in the children’s home (James 1:27)
  • Praying for ServLife and the work being done there in Bihar, and throughout India. Including prayer walking through the city, intentional intercessary prayer times during the week,  for ServLife staff in India and their family, church planters in attendance, and ministry there
  • Encouraging ServLife staff and believers that team will encounter at the ministry campus that week
  • Assisting ServLife in capturing media, video, picture taking, etc... of the children, church planters, of India

WHAT IS THE COST: The estimated cost of the trip is $2800. Don't let finances keep you from applying or pursuing the trip opportunity. WHO MAY GO: All Common Ground members are welcome to apply for the trip. (10 spots are available)

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS: Bihar, India, the poorest of India's states, has been labeled by many as the "graveyard of global missions." The Asia Development Research Institute, a Hindu research organization says, "Bihar has nothing to offer except history. Bihar is a damned place. Bihar defies all hope." A Hindu sociologist S. Narayan of the A.N. Singa Institute writes, "Bihar doesn't even deserve to be called a jungle because even jungles are governed by rules."

HISTORY: Common Ground has been building a relationship with ServLife and the family that live and work at the ministry campus there in India, since 2005. In the middle of this forsaken place a man and his family have laid down their lives for the sake of the Gospel and are seeing the gospel impact a community and a nation. Numerous teams have gone to provide logistical support for the annual leadership conference that takes place there each year.

HOW DO I APPLY: Trip applications can be downloaded here.
