I grew up by rivers and close to the ocean. I love kayaking rivers and streams and creeks. I love their movement…some rushing through rapids, crashing their way through a mountain pass, some content to slowly meander through meadows. I love the twists and turns and uniqueness of every mile of exploring this stream or that river. I love the layers and the personalities and the styles and the individuality. And I love how through the chaos and the flotsam as individual streams, brooks, creeks and rivers they are drawn to a bigger source of water which in turn is drawn to a bigger source of water - somewhat of a metaphor for our unique lives as they are drawn to the very source of life, He who created us and breathed life into us.
We bring all the twists and turns and flotsam and chaos and gentleness and wildness and beauty of this thing we call life and in the process of trying to figure some sense to it all find ourselves joining with others, unique to themselves but sharing the seeking after God in a fresher, more genuine way. St. Augustine taught that "our whole business therefore in this life is to restore to health the eye of the heart whereby God may be seen." This is often best done in the company of fellow pilgrims. This shared journey of seeking God and living out His Kingdom, in and through our individualities, is a significant essence of what the Kingdom Living Training School is about. We would love for you to prayerfully consider sharing in that journey with us this coming year - to sit by some rivers and share life and Kingdom. To learn more, visit our webpage or download a brochure.

As we begin our new curriculum, we’d like to give the preteens a more comfortable space in which to delve into God’s word. Can you help? We are looking for a few gently used couches that need a new home. If you have one that you think would work, please contact Martina at martina@cground.org to make donation arrangements.
Thank you in advance for making our preteens feel at home!

Common Ground is partnering with our new Midtown neighbor, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, for a blood drive on Sunday, March 2. The drive is an annual event for St. Thomas, and they have invited us to join them in serving the community.
In addition to donating blood from 8:15 am until 1 pm, you may also volunteer to help with the event. We’ll work with St. Thomas to set up their gym on Saturday night at 6 pm and volunteers will also be needed in the areas of childcare, sign-up, serving, and cleanup the day of the event. St. Thomas is located across the street from our new Midtown building at 4625 N. Kenwood Avenue, 46208.
This is a great service opportunity for house churches or individuals from both our Midtown and West sites. For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Marissa at marissa@cground.org.
