Staff transitions
The mission of Common Ground is to encourage people of all ages to be formed into the image of Jesus so we can love our neighbors in Indianapolis and around the world. There are some people within the CG family who have been specifically selected (i.e. employed) by CG to help lead and support this formation process. We refer to them as “church staff”, but essentially they are people just like you who are seeking to follow Jesus each day by serving His church. Due to transitions in life and vocational interests, we have recently experienced a few staff transitions that we’d like to share with you.

Doug Collins has served at CG nearly 8 years as Pastor of Administration. In this role, Doug provided oversight for church operations (facilities, personnel management, technology, finances, etc.) and also helped train and encourage many CG ministry leaders. As of March 31, Doug is transitioning off the CG staff to pursue other vocational interests. We are truly grateful for the many and significant contributions Doug has made to our church and are excited that he and his family will continue to be engaged in the CG community.

Related to Doug’s transition, we are pleased to announce that Brian Sevenbergen has accepted a part-time position as Director of Facilities and Grounds. In this role, Brian will help us continue to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us and help prolong the life of and minimize unnecessary costs associated with the facility. Also, Steve Hurry, who was hired in early 2009 to help with our website redesign, will be assuming greater responsibility at CG for our technology infrastructure. Steve will oversee office technology equipment and will help make timely changes/enhancements to our church website.

Adam Nevins has served at CG nearly 8 years in the role of Pastor of Worship and Arts. Adam has recently launched a nonprofit organization, ThereIsEnough.org, that connects partners of redistribution to provide food, fresh water, housing, clothing, health care and justice to those in need. Because of the time required to successfully lead this organization, Adam will be reducing his hours and scope of responsibility at CG. As such, we are excited to have Clint Reed join us as part-time worship leader. In this role, Clint will regularly help lead musical worship in our Sunday gatherings and will share a variety of worship team oversight responsibilities.

We are truly blessed to have a committed staff who love Jesus and His church. For more information about the responsibilities of each staff member, please see the Contact Us page on our website.

Easter - a note to our regular attenders
This Easter Common Ground will have a 9 am and 11 am gathering at Midtown (4550 N. Illinois Street) and a 10 am gathering at CGCC-West (6905 W. 46th Street). There will not be a 7 pm gathering on Easter Sunday.

In consideration of visitors who will be joining us, we encourage those who typically attend the 11 am gathering to participate in one of the other two gatherings that day. Making this slight modification in your schedule will help ensure we have room for everyone on this special day.
