Parents and teachers – don’t forget to join us following service on Sunday!
We will meet immediately after the morning worship services for approximately 25 minutes to share information about some of the activity that has been going on in the Children’s Ministry. So pick up your child from class and go directly to:
  • Community Room in the basement at Midtown or the Preschool Room at CGCC-West
  • Kids are included and snacks will be provided!
The information that we’ll be sharing is very important for our children, so we look forward to seeing you and your family on May 23! If you have any questions, please email Martina.

Is this the first time you’ve heard of this meeting? If so, we don’t have your contact information for our children’s ministry email list. Please click here to share your information with us.

Staff transitions
In an earlier e-news article, we provided an overview of a few recent Common Ground staff transitions. There is another important update that we’d like to share with you.

Bill Briley has provided oversight for missions and benevolence at CG for the past several years but has recently begun pursuit of God’s vision for a church plant in Boise, Idaho. As Bill begins to devote more attention to this new church in Boise, he will naturally be less involved with church in Indianapolis. In preparation for this transition, we’ve sought a replacement for Bill in his leadership role within CG.

We are pleased to inform you that we have recently hired Erica Denney as Director of Missions. Erica started with CG in early May and her primary areas of focus include leadership for the Vision Team, care for vision partners, oversight of vision trips, and oversight of our benevolence ministry. Erica and her husband, Ty, moved to Indianapolis from California in 2009. Erica and Ty have three children – Malia (8), Nathan (7), and Isaac (5) – and are excited to integrate their family more fully into the life of CG.

For more information about the responsibilities of each staff member, please see the Contact Us page on our website.

Life together
For many years the individualism of American culture has exerted great influence on the way we approach life, even in matters of faith. Jesus stands in direct opposition to this cultural norm. He tells us that our community matters and the redemption He offers us is often expressed within the structure of community.

On Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12 Englewood Christian Church will host a “Life Together” conference to explore what it means to be communities of God’s people in the twenty-first century. They have invited representatives from churches around the U.S. to share stories from their life together and discuss the role of the church as a connecting community.

You can learn more about this conference, including cost, speakers and registration details by visiting the Englewood website.

The great news is that there's an opportunity for you to join the team! We're looking for additional volunteers and no experience is necessary - just a willingness to serve one Sunday per month. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please send us an email for details.
