The Church Isn't an Organization
It's a living and breathing organism. In order for the church to be healthy and grow each part must do its work. Often times we assume that we aren't needed, or that someone else will meet the need.  Please read below for information on our ministry teams and click on the name of the team for more details.  You may also download our ministry brochure.

 

 

We encourage children over the age of 12 to worship with the adults in the sanctuary. For those age 12 or younger we have 6 different age groups for children's ministry.

 

Interested in serving?  Please complete an application and return it to the church office. You can also email your completed application to childcare@cground.org.

Hospitality Ministry
Each week we open our doors to hundreds of people including regular attenders, first time visitors, folks from the local community, and those revisiting the church for the first time in years. It's easy for a lack of parking spaces, full sanctuary, and other circumstances to detract from the hospitable environment we should provide for those who walk through our doors. This ministry team exists to ensure that we do provide a hospitable and friendly environment for those attending worship services and events at our building. Within the team we have a need for greeters, food & beverage volunteers, and welcome center volunteers.

Worship Team Ministry
We're called to be worshippers of God - a small piece of worship being our singing at corporate worship events. Our worship team consists of those who sing, play instruments, run the sound board, and oversee lighting and visual tech responsibilities.

MOPS
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!  MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.

A MOPS group provides a caring, accepting atmosphere for today’s mother of preschoolers.  Here she has an opportunity to share concerns, explore areas of creativity, and hear instruction that equips her for the responsibilities of family and community.

 

Do you love the great outdoors?  Then check out GCOF - an informal group of Common Ground members and friends who enjoy various activities in God's creation.  Past activities include backpacking on the Appalachian Train, hiking and whitewater rafting.
