Toronto Vision Trip

PURPOSE: Join Larry Mitchell, Director of Common Ground's Kingdom Living Training School, as he leads this Vision Trip to Toronto, Canada, one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. This journey and pilgrimage will provide a context for participants to experience faith and life formation through a variety of formal and informal city moments and its experiences will be attuned to its opportunities. Days and nights are filled with purposeful interaction with the city and its unique people.

We invite you to deeply connect with God and fellow pilgrims through questioning, laughing, eating, weeping, listening, and living.

Experiences include:
  • Strolling the streets and listening to sounds both new and old.
  • Dialoguing with friends and strangers in diners, parks, and shops.
  • Sharing in moments of grace, communion, and worship.
  • Listening to God's voice in the silence of a city rooftop.
  • Seeing the face of Jesus in a little child or homeless man.
  • Meeting with friends and community from Sanctuary.

WHEN: May 27-31 (Application/Deposit deadline: April 19)

WHAT IS THE COST: The estimated cost of the trip is $300. Don't let finances keep you from applying or pursuing the trip opportunity. House Church funds are available for visions trips, and the request form can be accessed here. Suggestions for raising support are also included with the application form.

WHO MAY GO: All Common Ground members are welcome to apply for the trip. (10 spots are available)

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS: The city of Toronto is the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada and is home to more than 2.7 million people. It is the center of one of North America's most dynamic regions and its population is one of the most diverse in the world. Nearly all of the world's culture groups are represented in Toronto and more than 100 languages and dialects are spoken.
