Youth Ministry

Introduction to Common Ground Youth Ministry

Two words in Common Ground’s mission statement are extremely important: To encourage people of all ages to be formed into the image of Jesus, so we can love our neighbors in Indianapolis and around the world.

These two words communicate the value we place on kids and adults; state our intention for church-wide spiritual formation; and they form our foundation and understanding of family ministry. These two words are also the reason behind a new ministry announcement: beginning in May, we will unroll the first phase of the Common Ground Youth Ministry.

Parent Connection
Parent Connection is an occasional gathering to pray for our kids, get to know and encourage one another, and discuss the uniqueness of parenting adolescent kids.

The next Parent Connection will be late August or early September during the youth ministry small group time, Sundays from 5 pm until 6:45 pm.  The focus will be to discuss Walt Mueller’s book, The Space Between. The book spotlights the developmental changes (physically, socially, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually) youth go through in adolescent years. Please purchase and read the book in advance.

Small groups gather at our Midtown location twice a month on Sunday evenings from 5 pm until 6:45 pm. The theme for the summer is “Authentic Relationships.”
