Lead Pastor Search Underway
Common Ground Northeast has been blessed to have Jeff Krajewski serve as our interim pastor since Summer 2017. Jeff has provided strong leadership, vision and preaching during this time of transition. The plan is for Jeff to provide this leadership until Summer 2018, when we plan for our new lead pastor to be in place.
A team of 10 people from CG Northeast volunteered to be on a search committee for the new lead pastor. That group began meeting in November to agree to the process that we would use to help us identify the person that God has in mind to fill this role. We met with the Common Ground West search committee leader to hear how they went through this process last year and then we developed a seven-step process (based on work that CG West had done) that we are following to provide structure to this work.
We are now ready to identify candidates and we want to ask for your help in the process. We believe that through our various personal networks and connections we will likely have many good candidates for this role. We will evaluate potential candidates through the lens of the 4 C's — Calling, Chemistry, Character and Competency — along with their spiritual background and beliefs.
The search committee is excited and expectant for the candidate God is preparing for us. We are confident that if we allow the Spirit to lead, God will provide the right candidate at the right time. We appreciate your prayer as we continue on this journey. The committee is focusing our prayer on the candidate, the committee and the congregation—and we would ask you to do the same.
If you or someone you know would be interested in pursuing this position, please feel free to share the link to this article, which includes the job description and application below.
If you have any questions about the process or about potential candidates, please don’t hesitate to contact Bill Neal, the lead elder at CG Northeast and a member of the search committee. His email address is email@example.com.
