Anthony Dumas started attending Common Ground 14 years ago with his wife Sonna. A local native of Indianapolis, Anthony attended Warren Central High School (1988) and Graduated from Ball State University in 1993. Anthony and Sonna have six children Vaughn, MJ, Calenia, Andre, Drew, and Zani.
Anthony and Sonna both currently work in ministries in the inner city of Indianapolis. Anthony has found a calling for the marginalized of Indianapolis through his previous employment at Marion County Jail II as a Correctional Counselor along with his time as a Discipline Dean for IPS School #63. Those positions have led Anthony to where is his heart is filled, working with homeless teens and young adults as the In-House Programs manager at Outreach Inc. His passions have allowed him to recently complete a two-year Master’s level certification course through Fuller Seminary and the Fuller Youth Institute with a Certification in Urban Youth Ministry.
He feels this is a true blessing to be able to become a member of a team that is called to love and lead the congregation of Common Ground Northeast well. “Being a man who has seen life blossom since God rescued me from a bottomless pit many years ago, I know that redemption and a true relationship with our Father are real, true and tangible gifts that we are called to share whenever and wherever we can.”
