We believe that parents, before any institution, have the primary responsibility for spiritual nurturing their children. We desire to come along side parents with encouragement and additional resources for spiritual formation. Below we have listed several resources.
Spiritual Formation Groups offer the opportunity to pursue Jesus in a more authentic and intimate community. In this community we worship God, learn from the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, ask questions, discover and use our spiritual gifts, and serve one another and the world around us. We encourage each Spiritual Formation Group to carefully consider how children and their families are nurtured within their community. A Guide to Discussing Children’s Ministry with your Spiritual Formation Group (formerly House Church) and resource ideas are available here.
Family devotions are an intentional time set aside when families can engage in reading the Bible, prayer, and various other activities that will help the family grow closer to God and each other. A simple plan for starting family devotions is available here.
Training and Equipping classes are offered quarterly and provide parents ways to help their children grow in the ways of the Lord. Information about upcoming training and equipping classes will be provided during our Sunday gatherings, in our bulletin, and on our church calendar.
Additional resources are available that you can utilize as you aim to disciple your children. Please know that these aren’t the answers, but simply resources that we’ve found beneficial and wanted to share with you.
If you have any questions about these resources or are interested in additional sources of information please contact our Children's Ministry Director, Mary Anne Martin: MaryAnne@cground.org.
