We believe God is active in the world, drawing people to Himself from every tribe, tongue, and nation. From God's promise to Abraham that his descendants would be a blessing to all nations, to Jesus' command to go into all the world in His name, we believe God's intent is that those who love and follow Him would witness to the world of the reality and goodness of God. Whether here in Indianapolis, or on the other side of the globe, our hope is that each person at Common Ground would be inspired, equipped, and released to share the good news of Jesus, and to show what life in His Kingdom is like.
We have endeavored to provide opportunities and resources to encourage active exploration and engagement with what God is doing in the world. We invite you to explore the resources listed below as you take steps in understanding and pursuing the unique way God has crafted you to love and serve the world around you.

Jessica Evans: Purchased
The mission of Purchased is to empower the community to end modern-day slavery. Purchased organizes and hosts events to raise awareness and educate people about modern day slavery, and inspires them to join in the abolition movement.
Purchased strives to empower people to become advocates themselves and collaborates with organizations for survivor support.
We love supporting Purchased, its staff, and its founder, Jessica Evans.
Center for Global Impact
Center for Global Impact (CGI) seeks to bring the Good News of Jesus to those in the grip of poverty and bondage. We do this practically by providing a pathway out of poverty through education, vocational training and business development. Primarily working in Cambodia, many of those we serve are victims of — or vulnerable to — human trafficking.
For more information about CGI, please check out their website.
Safe Families for Children is a movement fueled by compassion to keep children safe and families intact. Through Host Families, Family Friends, and Family Coaches, Safe Families temporarily host children and provide a network of support to families in crisis while they get back on their feet.

Steve & Bridget Hurry: Otino Waa Children's Village
Otino Waa Children's Village began in 2003 as a mission to rescue 78 orphans who were being targeted by the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) to be abducted as child soldiers. Today, Otino Waa houses over 300 orphan children and has onsite medical and dental clinics, primary and secondary schools, vocation training centers, and a café that is open to the public.
Otino Waa also serves the area with Community Based Care to allow orphaned and vulnerable children to benefit from Otino Waa’s programs, while continuing to live in their home villages.
Common Ground West supports the Otino Waa organization as well as Steve and Bridget Hurry who serve there as directors since August of 2015. They have two children, Ethan and Evelyn.
In November of 2012, Steve and Bridget moved to northern Uganda to work with a ministry called Restoration Gateway. Steve served as the Operations Manager, oversaw the staff and headed up the ministry’s communications. Bridget opened, worked at, and directed a medical and dental clinic which served the ministry and surrounding community. She also homeschooled their children, Ethan and Evelyn.
Bridget’s medical training frequently took them to Lira, where Otino Waa is located. Very early into their time in Uganda, the Hurry’s built a relationship with Otino Waa founders, Bob and Carol Higgins, and later the successive directors, Rory and Pam Frink. Before they, themselves become the directors of Otino Waa.
They bring a myriad of skills and open hearts, ready to serve the Lord and the people of Uganda.
For more information please visit the Otino Waa website.
