Marilyn moved to Indianapolis after college and began attending Common Ground in 2001. She has been part of the West church plant since its inception. Marilyn and her husband, Scott Rice, were married in June 2014. After getting married, they bought KayLeo, a property that provides space for community on the west side of Indianapolis. Marilyn has served as a Spiritual Formation Group leader and on the Mission Team.

Marilyn is a middle school special education teacher in Pike Township. She has a passion for social justice, giving a voice to the voiceless, and creating community. She hopes to encourage others to look outside the walls of the church to demonstrate the love of Jesus. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and rescuing animals.
